Back to Baja California
After our stay at Isla Isabela, we continued on our trek north. Our goal was to get across the Sea of Cortez, and start exploring the cruising grounds that everyone was talking about.

Isla Isabel, the place of birds
We arrived at Isla Isabel and tucked into a small anchorage on the east side. The island is well known as a bird sanctuary, and we were eager to go and explore.

The old San Blas
Today we toured San Blas. It is one of the loveliest shore towns we have seen in Mexico. It has nicely paved streets, straight sidewalks, and renovated buildings. And it retained its past charm.

Matanchen – up and close with wildlife
We arrived at Matanchen after a pleasant day of sailing. Here we explore the jungle by the river and see their mighty inhabitants. We also sample local food.

Bye, bye, Banderas Bay
It is hard to believe that it has been about 2.5 months since we arrived in Banderas Bay. It went fast. It is the end of the season here and the time of departures...

The crossroads of Banderas Bay
We have spent about 2.5 months in Banderas Bay. This was our pay-back time – we had finally reached a place where we did not have to think about leaving soon, did not have to worry too much about the weather, and could just enjoy being there.
